Arusha National Park
Arusha National park was established in 1960. It is the closest national park to Arusha town with the size of 552 sq km. The park is divided in three distinctive zones which are Ngurdoto crater, Momela lakes and the forest zone which includes Mount Meru.
The forest is inhabited by inquisitive blue monkeys, colourful turacos and is the only place on the northern safari circuit where the acrobatic black-and-white colobus monkey is easily seen.

Best time to visit
You may visit the pack throughout the year. To climb Mt Meru, best time is June through February although it may rain in November. Best views of Kilimanjaro December through February.
